What is the Church planter Assessment?

Whether you are suitably wired to be a church planter is critical to your chances of success. And whether you are eligible in terms of ministry experience and character is equally important.

Our church planter assessment process will explore whether you are suitable as well as eligible to be a lead church planter.

We will also  help you to discover whether the call you feel to plant a church is best expressed as the plant team leader or as a team member.

In looking at your suitability as well as eligibility for leading a church plant, we will take you through a journey of self discovery where you will undertake an extensive online assessment where your greatest strengths and traits are identified and then compared to the strengths and traits a church planter will generally need to have.

Next will be a meeting where we will help you to ascertain whether you have the 13 behavioural characteristics that studies have shown are essential for a successful church planter to have.

These two components of our assessment process will be invaluable not only in helping you see whether you are wired to successfully plant a church, but will also provide valuable insights that will be useful in your ongoing coaching.

If you need further ministry leadership development or foundational theological education, we can assist in both of these areas either through our Pastoral Leadership Development course, the Emerging Leaders Initiative (ELI) two year ministry leadership development pathway or the Innovators Round Table.

"I’ve recently engaged with Tim O’Neill and the church planter assessment process that A2A have put together. I found the process rigorous and thorough in its ability to take a big picture view of what attributes are most needed in a church planter and then to mine down into the specific details of each of these areas. Through engagement in the assessment material plus coaching & conversation with Tim and another A2A Pastor, I was able to hone in on the areas in my leadership style that may be potential weaknesses if not understood and coached through effectively, as well as the work needed to discern what sort of church model fits with me as leader and how I would disciple people to maturity in Christ. I highly recommend the A2A church planting process."
