The Acts 2 Alliance is a group of churches that reflects these core values demonstrated initially by the early church described in Acts 2 verses 42 through 47.
Growth –the believers were hungry to grow
We value as followers of Jesus being proactive in regularly engaging in Scripture and in the spiritual practices that will help believers grow personally in their relationship with God.
Gifts –the believers were empowered by the Holy Spirit
We value as followers of Jesus to love God and others by earnestly desiring the best gifts and serving Him and others with them.
Generosity –the believers were outrageously generous
We value as followers of Jesus the privilege of giving generously to the work of God in the local church with my time, talents, and finances.
Gatherings –the believers were committed to gathering together regularly in both small groups and corporate gatherings
We value as followers of Jesus being committed to our local church by being regular in both small group and corporate gatherings.
Grace –the believers were carriers of God’s grace
We value as followers of Jesus the opportunity of being intentional about walking in God’s amazing grace and sharing His good news with those who do not know him as their Lord and Saviour.
In addition to these core values we also value the following descriptive values.
Change –remaining culturally relevant
A2A values being pro-active in promoting the ever changing methods of ministry. God brings renewal to His mission by changing our methods without distorting the message (Isa. 43:18-19; Jer. 31:31-34; Mark 2:23-28).
Community –how we relate together
A2A values their leaders and their spouses being proactive in pursuing mutually edifying relationships which result in authentic Christian community. Such relationships help us to avoid pride (Matthew 22:37-39; 1 John 1:10-16).
Excitement –what our churches are like
A2A churches value passionate worship, service, and the sharing of God’s Word to inspire excitement in others for God (Acts 2:42-47).
Excellence –how we present ourselves
A2A churches value being committed to giving God our best and serving Him, and therefore those we serve, with excellence (Prov. 27:17; Malachi 1:6-14; Col. 3:17).
Health –how we feel about serving
A2A values joint responsibility between the movement and individuals to care for the health (body, mind and spirit) of their pastors, leaders, and spouses (Matt. 11:29; 27:49).
Innovation –how we engage with changing culture
A2A values responding positively and innovatively to the ever changing trends in society by being culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. We were birthed in a pioneering spirit, and want to continue and be counted amongst those known as “early adopters” (1Cor. 9:22).
Integrity –how we are seen by the local community
We value our churches building reputations of integrity and good character as they form trust with their communities (Prov. 13:34; Matt. 5:14; Job 2:9-10; Matt. 22:16-22; Acts 8:18-24).
Generations –how we embrace the generations
A2A values each generation honouring and contributing to each other so that our fullest potential is better able to be realised by being enhanced by this generational interaction (Matt.28:19; Acts 2:46).
Team –how we get things done
Sharing the gospel in a resistant culture is challenging work. Christians are individually gifted by God to serve his purpose in the earth, and the challenge to reach all people will only be realised when leaders appreciate the strength of team and release believers to use their gifts. We believe we should share the work load (Acts 13:2; 1Cor. 12:1-26; Ephesians 4:11-12).
